RHA Presents Escrow Check to FSS Graduate

A woman holding a large check.

Ms. Peaches Raglin became the latest graduate of the Roxboro Housing Authority Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program. She completed her five-year FSS Contract of Participation and became eligible to access and receive over $6,300.

During her participation in the five-year FSS program, Ms. Raglin obtained and maintained employment, realized her dream of getting her driver's license for the first time, and dually obtained degrees in Healthcare Management and Medical Office Administration at Piedmont Community College.

A portion of Raglin's monthly rent was deposited into the aforementioned account and accrued interest over a five-year period.  Because of fulfilling the program requirements, funds can be withdrawn and used for the purposes of the participant's choice; down payment on a new home, educational expenses, or to pay off debt to name a few examples.

Congratulations to Ms. Raglin as she continues to move forward in her goal toward homeownership.

Lawrence Mayfield, FSS Coordinator, and Felts Lewis, Executive Director, presented Ms. Raglin an escrow fund check during the February 2020 quarterly Program Coordinating Committee Meeting.
