Domestic Violence Information Shared During Teleconference

ROXBORO--Safe Haven of Person Co. Executive Director Annette Hampton shared domestic violence information with Roxboro Housing Authority (RHA) residents during the housing agency's weekly teleconference today.

"Domestic violence is an issue that impacts all walks of life," said Hampton, a 16-year veteran at Safe Haven.  "It happens to the ones you'd least expect."

She mentioned all socio-economic backgrounds represent Safe Haven's growing case load.  Incidents of domestic violence also increased as COVID-19 Stay-at-Home orders were extended.

RHA hosts resident meetings through a conference call each Tues. at 3 p.m.  All staff members share an update and answers resident questions.  This forum allows the staff to hear directly from residents, and to act swiftly in addressing concerns or receive feedback. Current and future events, maintenance updates, afterschool program activities and several other topics pertaining to public housing residents in Person Co. are discussed.
