Ms. Marquia Lunsford recently graduated Roxboro Housing Authority's Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program! She is the third FSS graduate since the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her participation in the five-year FSS program, Ms. Lunsford maintained employment, paid her rent in a timely fashion and accomplished her self-sufficiency goals.

A portion of Lunsford's monthly rent was deposited into an escrow account and accrued interest over the five-year period as an FSS program participant.  Because of fulfilling the program requirements, funds can be withdrawn and used for the purposes of the participant's choice; such as a down payment on a new home, educational expenses, or to pay off debt to name a few examples.

Congratulations to Ms. Lunsford as she continues to move forward in her goal toward homeownership.  She joins Sheldonna Burton and Peaches Raglin as graduates of the program during the most challenging times resulting from the novel coronavirus.

Lawrence Mayfield, FSS Coordinator, worked with her and 38 other FSS program participants with achieving their personal goals.
