Delay No More. Get Your Shot Today.

Roxboro Housing Authority continues to partner with Person Family Medical Center (PFMC) to offer residents priority scheduling for the COVID-19 vaccination. Anyone meeting the current age requirement can get a shot at this time.

Residents can either contact PFMC directly or call the RHA office at (336) 599-8616 to schedule an appointment.

Person Co. Health Dept. is also offering a first dose vaccination clinic to anyone 12-18 years old on Wed., May 26, 2021, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Person High School gymnasium. Appointments only for this clinic, so call (336) 597-2204.

Moderna is the vaccine offered by the medical center. Pfizer is offered by the health department. Both vaccines have emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to reduce the spread of COVID-19. It does not contain the virus in the shot, and after a few days of minor side effects, scientific studies have proven that recipients are safer against COVID-19.

The RHA/PFMC first vaccination event took place Fri., Feb. 12, 2021, despite rainy weather and before the ice storm that caused massive power outages throughout Roxboro.  Person Co. Transportation Service (PATS) provided roundtrip curbside pickup service. More events are planned based upon vaccine availability.

RHA Housing Management compiled a list that included almost 80 residents meeting the current vaccine requirements of being 65 of age or older or a healthcare worker.  Residents got priority placement on the medical center's waitlist.  Housing management used its list to share the opportunity to get a shot.  A PFMC representative scheduled an appointment and arranged transportation.

This ongoing collaboration has saved lives; however, more work is needed. Get your shot TODAY to continue the fight against this potentially deadly virus.
